Joints, Jackets, and other things you might find interesting...

Just a little "inside baseball" on me and my website.

Why Dandelions?

I loved dandelions as a child. The yellow ones are so pretty against the bright green hues of summer grass. The silver ones are so much fun to blow on and watch the seeds dance in the air. My mom? hated them. One year, she bought me a little book called The Silver Dandelion. In the world created by the author, dandelions were highly sought after and desirable and people often went to great lengths to procure them.  The book is long out of print but I treasure my copy.

Why Trixie Belden?

My Nana gave me my first Trixie book when I was 9 or 10 years old. She saw it at the store, thought I might like it, and gave it to me. Over the next ten years, I filled out my collection. I have 1-38 and the 2 "game" books. I thought I had purchased book 39 but was never able to find it after purchasing it in the late 1980s.

Why fan fiction?

Quite simply because they stopped writing new Trixie books. Last summer, I was alone in my apartment and I opened my box of Trixie books when it occurred to me that maybe there were other people - like me - who loved the books and maybe there was some fanfiction out there? Yay!! I was right! there were and there are!! And now, I'm one of them, too.

The guidelines

Jim will always end up with Trixie. They're soul mates. That's not to say they won't have some tension or some problems. They may even date other people. But they will always always always go back to each other. Also, I will never kill off a major character. I hate when authors kill off beloved characters. (I'm talking to you JK Rowling!!)

The unis...

I don't have a "set" universe. Most of my stories are short - 3,000 - 10,000 words - scenes. I've organized them by their loose universe.

2013 DLT - My mostly Trixie Belden inspired fan fiction website. I don't own the Trixie characters and make no profit from them. This is my way to pay homage to some beloved childhood memories.  In order to fully appreciate the stories, a basic understanding of Trixie and the adventures she and the Bob-Whites had is recommended.
